End of Term
This week the children have enjoyed creating nature colleges using resources they collected from the garden. The sunflowers are growing really tall now, hopefully in September we will have some flowers to show the children on their return to school.
In the mornings the children have enjoyed playing the games organised by Mrs Simons. A favourite is ring the bell. One child is blindfolded and another child is chosen to creep up and collect the tambourine without being heard. We certainly do have some great listeners at Swan Stars!
Outside, the children loved taking part in the water target game. The first team that got their cup to the end of the string were the winners. It was great fun, we didn't get too wet either!!
The children and Staff would like to wish our Year 6 children all the best in their new schools. Thank you for all your help with the younger children, they certainly will miss you lots and lots!
Rainy days and sunny days
This week we have made the most of the weather. The children have enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing rounders, gardening, performing on the outdoor stage, constructing the bug hotel and designing their own assault courses.
During the rainy days we have made use of the classrooms and the ICT suite. We held bingo nights in the classrooms. Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to our older children who helped the younger ones with their number recognition.
In the ICT suite, the children designed their own posters, scavenger hunts and completed their online homework. Our Year 3 girls are keen to develop their IT skills further by learning how to create a powerpoint.
Thank you to everyone who donated items for our bug hotel. The children have been busy this week collecting extra resources from the school grounds and woodland. In our ICT time the children researched how best to build the bug hotel and the different types of minibeasts that may visit!
