We had lots of fun this week decorating pumpkins, printing with pumpkins, making witches hats, creating Halloween masks and painting fireworks! The children also enjoyed making sparklers using marshmallows mmmmm!!!

This week, the children requested Halloween and bonfire night activities. We had Halloween hoopla, wrap a mummy, Cotton bud Skeletons and marshmallow sparklers. On Wednesday we organised a scavenger hunt for the children outdoor, they loved it!
At the Infants Club the children have taken part in some new games in the morning, a favourite has been musical bumps, we have some groovy movers!
In the afternoon the children got sticky constructing towers from marshmallows and spaghetti. A fun activity enjoyed by all! On Friday, the children used lentils to create their own Rangoli patterns. We had the pots and pans out to enhance the role play area, the children turned the corner into their very own restaurant.
The children are enjoying organising the team games for everyone at the end of Breakfast Club. Each year group has been allocated a day to plan and deliver a game for the other children. It has been really nice to see the children working together.
The children are also involve in the activity planning. The children add their ideas to the ideas board and work with the teachers to deliver their activity. This week we had an indoor football tournament, requested by Lucas and William.
This week, we went quiz crazy! On Tuesday the children participated in a team quiz. The children listened to clues that described a child who attends Swan Stars. They worked together to guess which Swan Stars member we were talking about. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other.
We also had a Harry Potter book quiz and a Guinness World book of records quiz. The children used the books to search for the answers. We have some Year 5 children who are busy writing their own quizzes for next week.
The children have been learning about Autumn, we collected autumn objects to use in our craft projects. The children made conker caterpillars, lions with the leaves and autumn tree paintings.
Next week, the children have asked to make some spooky Halloween decorations and harvest makes.
What an actioned packed week! The children have really settled well in to the routine. We introduced a reward scheme this week. The children are rewarded with a 'Super Swan' ticket when they follow the swan stars rules. Three times a week a name is pulled out of the box and the lucky winner can choose a prize from the prize box. Well done to all the children who have been given a ticket.
The Year 5 and Year 6 Junior playworkers popped over this week to help us with our activities, we had great fun decorating spider biscuits, painting spiders, flower collages, making snails and learning how to sew.
We set the children a stem challenge to construct a tower using cocktail sticks and apples. We had great feedback from the children and plan to offer more science and engineering activities each week.
We welcomed Mya, an exchange student from Germany this week. The children enjoyed getting to know Mya It was so lovely to see how friendly our children were towards Mya, initiating conversations, learning a few German words and inviting her to play with them.
The Year 4 children treated everyone to a band practise, as you can imagine it was very loud!!! At breakfast club, it was it was the turn of the Year 6 boys to organise a game for everyone. They chose dodgeball, a new Swan Stars favourite!
We introduced the reward scheme to both Infants and Juniors. The children will be rewarded with a lottery ticket when they follow the Swan Stars rules.
