The children were very excited by the arrival of air hockey. The children took turns really well by writing their name on the clipboard. It was lovely to see all ages mixing together, as they cheered each other on.
As you can see from the photographs they all loved dressing up. We would be very grateful of any donations of more outfits.
This week the children were excited by the arrival of Limbo! We certainly do have some flexible children. We had a particular focus on 'getting active' with a variety of activities from twister, badminton, team games to bench ball.
The School have organised for the hall floors to be cleaned after school twice a week . Swan Stars will need to pack away the equipment for the night, we thought it would be an ideal opportunity to introduce some team games on those evenings. This week the children learned how to play 'blob' and played some old favourites too!
Please can I remind Parents to inform Swan Stars if your child is not going to attend their session. Thank you.
This week we have changed the way we do snack. The children now eat their snack in the Infant hall rather than walking over to the Junior hall. We have found that the children have more time to play after school and settle in to Swan Stars after a busy day in school. Also it is far more convenient for Parents who collect during snack time.
We have managed to get outside to play in between the showers. The children have enjoyed playing on the Infant equipment and on the field. There will be a sign on the door if we are playing outside with directions of where to find us!
Now the children are in a routine we have introduced some activities, they got creative with paints and the craft trolley. Next week the children have requested that they would like to make cakes.
We had such a lovely first week back with all of you. It was so wonderful how everyone settled in to the two new clubs, especially the children with siblings at the other club and not forgetting our new starters.
Remember Parents drop off and collection points are:
Infant Club entrance is via the double doors next to the main entrance
Junior Club entrance is up the steps to the annex
We met some of the new reception children this week, they settled in to Swan Stars so quickly. It was so lovely to see the Year 1 and Year 2 children looking after them, showing the children around and encouraging them to join them in their play.
The children enjoyed opening the new resources for the Infant club, we had some new lego, games, jigsaws, ponies and craft resources. Next week when the rest of the new starters join us we are going to work on the Infant Club development plan together and the new club rules.
Welcome back everyone and hi to our new starters! The children enjoyed catching up with their friends after the long holiday. We are very keen to get into the garden and do some weeding, let's hope for better weather next week! The children were amazed how tall the sunflowers had grown.
Thank you to all the children who added their ideas to the planning sheets, we will be using these when planning the weekly activities. So far, the ideas we have are painting, baking, beauty days and sports. If there is anything else you would like to do then please add it on!
Next week, the Year 5 and Year 6 children will have the opportunity to start their application to become a Junior playworker over at the Infant Club.
