- Use Subordination (because, when)
- Use the past and present tenses consistently
- Use punctuation correctly – exclamation sentences, question sentences
English – Reading
During our reading lessons we will be looking at the book ‘The Dragonsitter’. We will be working on asking and answering questions about what we have read, making inferences about what is being said and done and learning new vocabulary about a story.
During our Maths lessons this term we will be looking at methods for multiplication and division, statistics and properties of shape.
Great Fire of Nantwich (Spring 1)
This half term we will be looking at a historical event in the locality and studying the Great Fire of Nantwich. As part of our History work we will be studying facts about the fire, looking at how it started and the impact it had on Nantwich. As part of our Geography work we will be looking at identifying parts of the UK and locating Nantwich on a UK map. We will visit Nantwich Museum this half term to better understand the events of the fire and have a look at key landmarks in relation to the fire. We will be working on collage techniques in Art and creating our own Great Fire of Nantwich collage.
2B have PE on Tuesday and Thursday
2S have PE on Monday and Thursday
On these days we ask that children come to school in their PE clothes rather than their school uniform.
Weather dependant they can wear their shorts and school coloured PE T- shirt and House PE sweatshirt. If the weather is cold, then track suit bottoms/leggings would be more suitable. Trainers are preferable to pumps as it is possible the children may be outdoors for some lessons.
Long Term Plan
In the instance that your child is required to remain off school as a result of self-isolating, here is an overview of the learning taking place in class each day.
There are links to useful resources and games that can be clicked to enable children to access their learning at home.
As well as completing the tasks on the home learning grids, your child should read daily and practice the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
