Presentation from the Welcome evening

Homework

Homework will be set each week and written on the board for children to copy into their planners. Children will be expected to attempt the work set on Sum Dog for Maths each week and SPAG (shown as Reading on the site for some reason) or Spelling every other week.

Reading comprehension homework will be set in the weeks where SPAG or Spelling has not been set. This will also be written on the board for children to put into their planners. Children will need to read and answer questions by clicking on the picture of the Bug's head on certain pages.

Although more questions and reading may be available, children are expected to do 30 minutes per subject between Friday and Wednesday. Children may choose to do more than this in order to earn more coins for their profile.

If children have been unable to complete homework for any reason, please write a note in their planner so we can address it if possible.

Homework will not be set in the last week of each term, or if children are expected to complete other activities at home such as learning lines for assemblies or school plays.

Year 3 and 4 Statutory Spellings List

PE

PE is on Mondays and Fridays throughout the year, but as the weather starts to get nicer, we may try and makeup for any lost lessons where possible. We also have Dance sessions and Cricket sessions in Autumn term. These will be on Thursdays, so please make sure PE kits stay in school.

Kit

In winter, children will need jogging bottoms as well as shorts, PE tops and jumpers. Trainers may get dirty, so a carrier bag may also be useful.

Long hair must be tied up with a bobble. Tape must only be used for new piercings as it still doesn't protect the ear fully. Older piercings should be removed before taking part.
