You must send photo's or video's before 4pm on the day of the event.

At Wistaston Church Lane Academy we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovate, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achevement of all our children.

PE & Sports Premium

Our Sports Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionalls, entering into more competitive sports competitions, engage children through a wider variety of sports and offer training to staff to deliver in-house quality PE sessions.

What is the PE and Sports Premium?

The government provides funding to schools in order to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sports they offer.

In 2017, the Sports Premium was doubled to £16,000, plus an additional £10 per pupil. This means that we received approximately £20,000 for the year. This money is ring-fenced so must be used to improve PE and Sport within the school.

As a school we are committed to using the money to make long-term improvements to PE and Sport, particularly in using the money to train staff to ensure teaching and learning in PE is of consistent high quality.

You can see how we are planning to spend the money this year below, and find a review of last years spend.

How is the funding used at Wistaston Church Lane Academy?

Transporting children to sports events

We would prefer parents to make their own arrangements for taking children to sports events. However, if agreed with a member of staff, we may be able to provide transport in a car. On such rare occasions we expect parents to provide and fit a booster seat if necessary for the child. Here is the law regarding child car seats which you may wish to check for clarity.
